25 March 2026, Istanbul, Türkiye – The CIFAL Istanbul, UNITAR team visited the exhibition “On Water: An Istanbul in Every Drop”, hosted at the İSKİ Kuzguncuk Kültür Evi. The visit provided an opportunity to examine the multifaceted role of water across its cultural, ecological, and urban dimensions within the historical context of Istanbul.
Through diverse artistic interpretations, the exhibition reframes water not merely as a vital natural resource, but as a element shaping the continuity of life, the urban resilience of megacities, and the long-term sustainability of societies. By bringing together historical heritage, ecological perspectives, and artistic expression, the exhibition offers a narrative on how urban water management and cultural identity intersect over centuries.
At a time when the protection, sustainable management, and intergenerational transfer of water resources are becoming increasingly critical on a global scale, the visit reinforced CIFAL Istanbul’s commitment to advancing environmental awareness through a sustainability lens. During the visit, team members also held discussions regarding potential joint projects and inter-institutional collaborations.
